HealthAmerica and HealthAssurance have joined forces to offer health insurance services throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania for more than a quarter of a century. With a network of more than thirty-five thousand providers and over three hundred and fifty hospitals HealthAmerica has provided residents with a large source of Ohio healthcare options. Coventry Health Care is the parent company of HealthAmerica and one of the nation’s largest health insurance providers.
Available Ohio Health Insurance Plans
HealthAmerica offers two types of Ohio health insurance plans. Health Savings Account compatible plans and non-compatible plans. Out-of-network coverage is available with all of these plans for additional cost.
HSA-compatible Ohio healthcare plans have deductibles from twelve hundred dollars to three thousand dollars, all with an out-of-pocket maximum of five thousand dollars. Coverage for office visits, preventative care, emergency services, and inpatient/outpatient care range from fifty to ninety percent. You have the option to choose the level of coverage you are willing to pay for. Prescription co-pays sit at ten dollars for generic drugs, thirty dollars for brand-name drugs, and fifty dollars for non-formulary drugs.
Non-compatible Ohio health insurance plans are labeled by numbers ranging from 1 to 12.
Plans 1, 2, 10, and 11 all offer one hundred percent coverage. Some co-pays apply for office visits, preventative care, emergency services, and inpatient/outpatient care. Deductibles do apply and prescription drug plans are included. These prescription plans require additional co-pays and may have added deductibles.
Plans 3-9 offer eighty to ninety percent coverage after a deductible is met. These plans cover office visits, preventative care, emergency services, and inpatient/outpatient care. Co-pays may be required for certain services. Prescription drug plans are included in each of these plans as well. Additional co-pays and deductibles may be required for prescription drugs.

Other Healthcare Options Available
HealthAmerica also offers dental and vision plans. For members on Medicare, supplemental plans are available, as well as two different prescription drug plans: AdvantraRx and First Health Part D. Mail order prescription drug services are offered through HealthAmerica; so are health education classes.
