US News and World Report has given SummaCare the title of “America’s Best Health Plans”. They also have ranked SummaCare's commercial plans as the best in Ohio. Based in Akron, SummaCare has a network of six thousand providers and thirty hospitals across Ohio. They have joined forces with Apex Benefits Services to offer self-funded group health care plans to companies through out Ohio.

Available Ohio Health Insurance Plans
Individual PPO health insurance plans are available with deductibles starting at three hundred dollars and going as high as twenty thousand dollars for non-preferred providers. These plans include between fifty and eighty percent coverage for hospital services, surgery, x-ray, lab, and diagnostic services, as well as, mental health and substance abuse programs. Office visits, preventative care, and durable medical equipment are also covered with additional co-pays. These plans include vision services, chiropractic care, and a prescription drug plan.
Individual Qualified High-Deductible PPO health care plans are also available. These are HSA-compatible plans with deductibles starting at fifteen hundred dollars and going up to twenty thousand dollars for non-preferred providers. With these insurance plans most medical services are covered between sixty and one hundred percent. This includes surgery, emergency care, hospital stays, mental health care, x-ray and lab services, substance abuse programs, preventative care, durable medical equipment, and ambulatory services. Vision, chiropractic care, and prescription drugs are all covered under these plans. Maternity care is not included.

Other Health Care Options Available
SummaCare also offers Medicare supplemental plans. Maternity care plans are available separately from the above mentioned plan options. Additional pharmacy riders are also available with some plans. Dental plans are available through SummaCare Dental. Special plans and benefits are available to federal employees. Also available for SummaCare members is a twenty-four hour nurse line, special internet features, and Health Management Programs.
